ADC HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ASPIRANT, HON. LAWAL E. CHECHET: A UNIFYING LEADER GROUNDED IN HUMILITY, SECURES ROYAL BLESSINGS AHEAD OF 2027
In the true spirit of humility, service, and sound upbringing, Hon. Lawal Emmanuel Chechet, popularly known as Mr. Lash, has embarked on a purposeful journey of engagement and consultation as he seeks to represent the people of Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
This journey, driven not by personal ambition but by a genuine desire to serve, has been met with warmth, goodwill, and overwhelming acceptance across communities. Much like the biblical account of Christ’s triumphant entry—welcomed with joyful cries of “Hosanna!”—Hon. Chechet’s outreach continues to resonate with the people, reflecting leadership inspired by service, not power.
BUILDING CONSENSUS, ENGAGING STAKEHOLDERS
As part of a strategic three-day consultative tour, Hon. Chechet paid courtesy visits to respected party leaders and grassroots stakeholders across the constituency. Among those visited was Hon. Alex Yayit, former councillor of his ward, who expressed deep satisfaction with the aspirant’s vision and leadership style and pledged his unwavering support.
These engagements underscore Hon. Chechet’s commitment to inclusive politics and consensus-building—anchored on listening, consultation, and unity—values critical to effective and people-centered representation.
SEEKING WISDOM THROUGH TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS
Recognizing the enduring role of culture, tradition, and moral authority in governance, Hon. Chechet visited the palaces of eminent traditional rulers across Zangon Kataf, including the Agwatyap, Agwam Kajju, Angbiar Anghan, and Agwom Akulu, to formally introduce himself and seek royal fatherly blessings.
At each palace, Hon. Chechet expressed profound respect for the traditional institutions, acknowledging their pivotal role in preserving peace, unity, and cultural identity within the constituency. He described his aspiration as a response to a “call to serve”—a commitment to restore confidence in leadership and amplify the voices of the people at the federal level. “This journey is not about personal ambition alone,” Hon. Chechet noted.
“It is about dignified representation, responsive leadership, and creating opportunities that reflect the yearnings of our people.”
In their separate remarks, the royal fathers warmly received the aspirant, commending his humility, courage, and sense of responsibility. They described his aspiration as timely and refreshing, especially at a time when youth participation in governance is urgently needed.
Speaking with one voice, the traditional rulers offered prayers and counsel: “You are young and endowed with vision. Lead with prayer, love, and integrity. Let your public service reflect the values of your good upbringing.”
These affirmations highlight the broad trust and confidence reposed in Hon. Chechet across generations and institutions.
A STRONG TEAM, A CLEAR VISION
Hon. Chechet’s engagements were further strengthened by the presence of respected and experienced leaders, including:
* Hon. Manasseh Istifanus, former Senior Special Assistant (Media) to the former Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai
Hon. Elisha D. Sako, former Secretary of Zangon Kataf Local Government
Their support reinforces the credibility, depth, and preparedness surrounding Hon. Chechet’s aspiration.
THE ROAD AHEAD: HOPE, SERVICE, AND PROGRESS
With royal blessings assured and growing grassroots support across Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency, Hon. Lawal E. Chechet stands out as a symbol of unity, humility, and progressive leadership. His aspiration represents a new chapter—rooted in service, guided by values, and driven by the collective good of the people.
